Challenge Aerial and the Art Beacon's Summer Aerial & Arts/Craft Camps are for Rising 4th graders- Rising 9th Graders who are ready to spin and fly in the morning, and create and design in the afternoon. Over five days, students will learn basic techniques and sequences on aerial silks, sling, trapeze, lyra, and rope the apparatus while developing flexibility, strength & balance in the morning. Children have fun while learning aerial arts in a safe environment that helps them-
The aerial portion of the camp runs from 9:00 AM -1:00 PM Monday through Friday (drop-offs can begin at 8:30am). The camps culminate with a student showcase each Friday.
After a lunch break from 1:00pm- 1:30pm, the Arts Beacon will kick off the Arts/Crafts part of the day, where students will further explore their artistic/creatives selves by creating works with a variety of mediums: paint, fabric, paper, clay, found objects and more. Opportunities to create props and costumes for the Friday shows will be explored. Closed toes shoes must be worn for this part of the camp. Please note, clothes may get dirty/gritty, so don't wear nice new clothes!
