Description —> Where dynamic movement can blend with fluidity and gentle spin – continuing the flow rather than breaking its momentum. There are so many factors that play a role in smooth dynamic motion: strength, understanding of the movement and where energy both starts from and flows through during the beat, spin, directionality, flare pathway, etc. This workshop is simply a collection of my favorite fluid dynamics that lend themselves to linking well with flow on silks. Some simple, some more intricate. There are of course so many skills, so this is not an exhaustive series. Instead think of it as a jumping off point for your own brainstorming to create flow using momentum and dynamic motion! This workshop will help you work more flow and continuity into your dynamic practice, linking of beats, connections to different pathways – and see what relationships you can find when flowing dynamics fluidly.
Students should be able to: safely invert to straddle and hipkey with straight legs from bent arm hold, and are comfortable engaging to hang in a long arm hang.
